SoCal Margarita

About a year ago, I was having drinks with Robb and Nicki Wolf and they introduced me to the famous “NorCal Margarita”, named for their location and NorCal Strength & Conditioning. It was simple, delicious and had a bit of science behind it for balancing the glycemic index. Tequila, juice of one lime and splash of soda made for a crowd favorite every time. Turns out the lime juice balanced out the tequila and made for the preferred drink of Paleo followers. I even witnessed Dr. Cordain have a few and put his stamp of approval on them. In the spirit of evolution, a need for a slight kick and a desire to improve upon perfection the “SoCal Margarita” was crafted in Newport Beach at SoCal Strength & Conditioning…

Ingredients:
2 oz of Patron Silver
2 oz fresh lime juice
1/2 serrano chili
cilantro
1/4 oz agave

Directions:
Chop serrano chili and cilantro finely.
Muddle serrano chili, cilantro and agave.
Add ice, then lime juice and tequila
Finish with lime wedge.

Enjoy!
